Cooling the air with high pressure water spraying

The air temperature can be reduced through the phase transition from liquid water to water vapour, and thanks to this phenomenon the air can be refreshed using much less energy than traditional refrigeration.

Misting systems work by forcing water, via a high-pressure pump, to pass through misting nozzles with orifices of a few micrometers, thus producing a very fine mist. The droplets of water that create the fog are so small that they evaporate very quickly, reducing the temperature of the surrounding air in seconds.

Nebulization can be very effective in various contexts, it can be used in the open air, in partially covered spaces, or indoors. In addition to cooling, it also allows the air to be humidified and to reduce dust and odors present in the air.

Cooling by nebulization requires a continuous supply of water, and depending on the use and the chemical-physical characteristics of the water available, this may or may not need to be softened.

Since this is an evaporative cooling system, the principle whereby the effectiveness of the cooling is linked to the atmospheric relative humidity also applies to nebulization: the lower the relative humidity, the greater the effectiveness, to allow cooling it is therefore necessary ensure excellent ventilation and the dispersion of air saturated with humidity.
